Public transport travels with PagoBancomat®

Naples, 7 June 2022 - Starting today, “Travel with PagoBancomat” starts, the payment system that allows you to travel on public transport in Campania using your PagoBancomat contactless payment card, without the need to have a paper ticket with you.

BANCOMAT S.p.A., a leading company in debit card payment services in Italy, with the support of Consorzio Unico Campania and local public transport companies, inaugurated today - at the Naples Museum station - the service, in the presence of local institutions.

With the card Bancomat payment It will be possible to have access to authorized local public transport: EAV railway lines, ANM metro network and Alibus shuttle. The service will then also be extended to the buses of associated companies.

The system, through the contactless payment method, allows you to activate the travel ticket by bringing the card closer to the terminals enabled at the entrance to the stations. The service also allows, in the case of multiple trips during the day, to count the “taps” made by the cardholder and automatically pay the most convenient rate based on the day's trips and the entry and exit stations. In short, the new system automatically calculates the best rate, from the single trip to the integrated ticket or the urban daily ticket.

The Campania Region is the first, in Italy, to enable the PagoBancomat circuit for access to local public transport services. The project for the use of contactless cards, which started experimentally in November 2021 - and which has already had a very positive response in terms of use by travelers - is growing, thus, further, thanks to the technical adjustment developed by UnicoCampania and Bancomat, offering users the possibility of using practically any payment card.
