ATM with Intesa Sanpaolo joins Google Pay

Rome, April 18, 2025 - BANCOMAT, the reference payment circuit for millions of Italians, today announces its entry on Google Pay, through an agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo and Google.
With this step, BANCOMAT will strengthen its leadership position in the digital payments landscape in Italy, contributing to the growth of the country's digital ecosystem and responding to the needs of security, innovation and accessibility for all the actors involved.

Objectives shared by Intesa Sanpaolo, a historic partner of Bancomat, which, as the first bank in the country, confirms its commitment to constant innovation, offering its customers the widest range of digital payment solutions and maximum freedom of choice in terms of tools, channels and methods of use, with continuous attention to security, ease of use and accessibility.
Intesa Sanpaolo Group customers will be the first in Italy to be able to digitize their ATM card on Google Wallet and to be able to use their Android devices to make fast and secure contactless payments in physical stores, without the need to carry the physical card or enter the PIN of the same on the POS, ensuring the protection of personal data according to the usual and high security standards.

For merchants, this innovation will reduce waiting times and simplify the payment process, while offering an economically advantageous solution thanks to the ATM circuit.
